Shame's Backbender (2025), is a chalk pastel drawing on paper in which long, articulate lines depict a female figure arched over a large red apple that has fallen from the Garden of Eden, casting aside inherited narratives of shame. Through energetic mark-making and vibrant colour, the work reclaims the female experience as one of agency and resilience becoming a site of resistance, strength and transformation.
